Input MIDI CC – Output SysEx Message?

  • Input MIDI CC - Output SysEx Message?

Hi everbody,

Apple Logic Pro X has obviously one or more bugs in sending SysEx Messages. So I’m wondering if this task can be done with BOME MIDI Translator Pro.

The idea is to send a certain MIDI CC message to the Translator, and Translator then sends a specific SysEx message to an external device (VoiceLive 3 Extreme).
Is that possible and if so how?

Thanks in advance

Yes. this is not only possible it is very common, however I would need to understand the input states of you CC’s and the desired Sysex you would like to send.

You can put Sysex messages on output as raw bytes and use rules to prepare the variables you want to send out.

For instance

Input :Controller 1 on CH1  any value  (set pp to value)

Output  Raw MIDI : F0 01 02 03 pp F7

If you need rules to modify the value of pp, you would create those in the rules section

Steve, that’s good news. I’ll be back if I have to solve my problem that way.

If you have trouble with Sysex, be careful. Many cheap USB to DIN cables cannot support sysex.
