I am using BOME MT as an interface between my all midi controllers and cubase (using Bome MT midi through function). I have now added a novation launch control XL and I would like to use its HUI function. However, it works only for a while and then it stops. It appears that the midi messages from other controllers are interfering with it. Is there anything I need to do to prevent this ?
Make sure the HUI Ping is getting through to your Launch Control XL secondary port (which is the HUI port at least once per 2 seconds. If you can’t guarantee Protools is sending it, you can send it yourself from MT Pro. It is Note-on MIDI CH1 Note 0. If you do it with MT Pro, then just use a timer to send it periodically once every 2 seconds (2000 ms).
Also, it is possible that sending notes to the primary Launch Control XL port may be dropping out of HUI mode, so make sure nothing get sent there. I don’t think the Launch Control XL can simultaneously handle HUI and native modes.
