X-Touch MINI with extended features

Hi,

If anyone out there has an X-touch MINI and was disappointed that their Mackie emulation knobs do not control faders, I have set up a Bome Project that allows this. It even allows you to switch between Mackie ad Layer Modes with double tap of some controller buttons. You can also use the knobs as V-Ports by double tap.

The project exposes two Bome virtual ports (one for Mackie use and one for Layer use), so essentially it looks to your application like 2 separately operable controllers. All buttons and encoder values are saved so that it remembers them and updates LED rings and buttons as you switch mode.

Since I put in a lot of time on it, I will be charging for it if interested but at a reasonable price. If interested reach out to me via email as I will not be posting this project on the forum.

Hi

I am interested. I will use it to control the ATEM Mini Pro - a HDMI video switcher. Is it possible to test that it works before paying?

Best Regards
Johan Niklasson

Hi the ATEM switcher does not recognize MIDI, however you can send it keystrokes or mouse clicks my using Bome MIDI Translator Pro. There is a free trial version available for testing. The trial version times out every 20 minutes.

Hi Steve
I am interested in your template. I want to use it with my DAW (Cubase 12)
How can i get your email please ?

All the best
Christian

Hi Christian,

Thanks for your interest! I responded to your email.

Steve

Hi Steve
Yeah i just saw it and responded.

Christian

Hi Steve,
I installed your template and tested it. The MC mode works fine but when i double press the button 16 the X-TOUCH stucks and then i can’t use it until i reload again the template inside Bome Midi Translator Pro (and some time even obliged to reinit it in the Cubase Mackie Control menu). So it looks like something is blocking the switching between the Layer and MC mode.
Can you help me to resolve this please ?
For your information i use Cubase 12.0.70 and the latest version of Bome Midi Translator Pro.
Thank you

Christian

Another thing, how must i use the X-touch-MINI-Globals.txt? Shoud i put it in the same ‘X-TOUCH MINI extended’ template folder ?

You need to use the X-touch Editor to program Layer A and Layer B modes for it. I included the Layer A and Layer B X-Touch Editor templates in the zip file. They are the factory defaults that the X-Touch MINI comes with.

You can find the X-touch editor on the Behringer Web site.

It is only used as a reference and is not needed anywhere. I included it so that if you want to modify the template, you know what global variables are already in use.

Hi Steve,
I got it all working good eventually, but my question now is…is it possible to customize which button i need on the MC Mode layer ? In fact i’d like to add the 46 ‘Bank Left’, 47 ‘Bank Right’, 48 ‘Page Left’, 49 ‘Page Right’ fonction on the Buttons 1 and 2, and the Buttons 9 and 10 of the X-TOUCH

Christian

Yes this is possible. It takes a bit of doing because we are using gestures heavily.
Also I’m unclear on what you want for page left and page right as these are not Mackie MCU commands. For page left and right do you mean channel left and right? Also the buttons that you want to change have default behavior of Click, Solo, Drop and Replace for single tap. Do you want to replace these or do you want to retain these and use double tap for the new buttons?

FYI, buttons A and B in Mackie mode will already do a Bank Right and Bank Left.
Double tap on these buttons and you get Marker and Nudge respectively.

Ok, but i have not well understood the template and interractions on how to use gestures. If i can have some kind of user guide to do it myself it would be very nice, in the other hand if you have to charge me for that update assuming you are the only one who can do it correctly and rapidly how much it will cost me ?

Yes i talk about the channel left and right Mackie function and for the 4 buttons (click, solo, drop, replace) it would be nice if we could keep them and activate the new ones with a double tap. The goal here is to have the possibility to edit vst plugins controls and not just activate them.

Yeah i saw that for the double tap on the button A and B. But was not aware of the Bank Left and Riight for these buttons. Good to know…thank you for the information.
Since Bank Left and Right buttons are already there with buttons A and B, do you think possible to add the ‘Flip’ and ‘Shift’ Buttons instead ?
Thus X-TOUCH button setting would or could be this way: Button 1 = Channel Left, Button 2 = Channel Right, Button 9 = Shift, Button 10 = Flip

Christian

Hi Christian,

I can do this, however support for the project file I sent you is really limited to minor stuff (mostly bug fixes and/or Q&A) and this will take me at least one hour. I’ll reach out to you via email with a quotation.
