Routing MIDI CC to pitchbend

What I am doing wrong (screenshots attached)? I am getting midi in and out to flash when I use the controller, but nothing seems to happen in the DAW.

Also not sure how to specify bend amount. I just need normal negative&positive values.

And one more stupid question—is the program supposed to be working for the translation to work?

Would be grateful if someone could help. Thanks.

If you are on a Windows machine, no more than one application can view a given midi port at the same time so make sure any other applications that open that port are closed, then try MIDI-OX to monitor the output.

If you want to Monitor the output in MIDI-OX While connected to your DAW, you will have to take input from BMT1 virtual port and put output to another virtual port (try loopmidi) and use that as input to your DAW.

I tested the project file I sent you and the output looked fine. You can also turn on the logging capabilities of MT to see what is happening.

Thank you. Yeah, disregard my comment about MIDI-OX. BMT 1 actually works fine. Guess I’ll have to tinker some more. Maybe it’s Ableton.

There is a tutorial video I did about integrating with Ableton.

Thank you, but I actually figured it out with in-built log. I typed pp into value (the way I did with qq in bend amount), instead of choosing the variable in the drop down menu below. And it works.

Pitch bend is a 14 bit value where CC is 7 bit value

The following logic will scale input value of 0-127 to output value of 0-16383 which is required for pitch bend.

// Convert to 14 bit value
qq=0
qq=pp*128
if qq>0 then qq=qq+127

You will need to put that in the rules section of your translator

Input CC# on channel X set pp to value

Output Pitch bend bend amount qq

Make sure your DAW is monitoring the Bome Midi Translator output port and channel you are sending pitch bend and that Bome Midi Translator is monitoring the right CC on the right port and channel

Thank you. Still can’t seem to make it work in the DAW (Ableton) 🙁 It lights MIDI In and Router Out now. Is that how it’s supposed to be?
