  • Question about Bomes Pro Triggers

So I have a comm system that can do a GPI or contact closure signal out of it.

Can Bomes read these as a trigger to send a midi note?

Bome MIDI Translator can handle triggers from the following:

  • MIDI In – from any available Computer USB Port or class compliant device connected via USB (Windows and Mac). Or attached virtual Network MIDI ports (such as BomeNetwork or rtpMIDI if installed on the computer). Also virtual ports exposed on the computer are recognized as standard MIDI inputs.
  • Serial Data In (from any available COMM Port)
  • Keystroke (any attached keyboards – All keyboards look the same. Also virtual keystrokes might work from applications depending on how the application sends the keystroke.
  • Mouse movement, or clicks.

What you are talking about (GPI) seems to be a switch “open or closed”, which MT Pro does not recognize. However if you purchase and external device that can convert CV (Constant Voltage) to MIDI, it should work since MT Pro understands MIDI
