Lots of crashes

Hi guys,

I'm using BOME 1.8.4 to control Cubase with Faderport using a script you made for me.

BOME does crash a lot. I have attached the script. Can you see what's causing the crashes?

Thanks

Jorg

Hi,

I've not experienced this behavior. It looks like you are running on a Mac? Could you post or email me your project file?

Hi Steve,

I attached the crash report in the previous post.

I attached the project file to this post.

Thanks

Jorg

Yes, I've asked someone else to look at the crash dump. I recognize the project file, however not sure whether you are duplicating messages to your FaderPort since the Cubase CC to Fader preset has both "To Faderport" and "PreSonus FP2" defined as output ports.  If "To FaderPort" is an alias for "Presonus FP2" then you should uncheck "Presonus FP2" as one of your output ports in preset "Cubase CC to Fader" preset.

Also, on your Mac, please check your security options to ensure MIDI Translator Pro is allowed in accessibility settings. I don't think this would be the issue though since this usually only becomes an issue for keystrokes or mouse actions.

Looking at your project file I’m pretty sure it is not the problem unless your controller is sensitive to double messages. I would try de-installing and re-installing Bome MIDI Translator on your computer.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I think the duplication is there because its setup so that messages get sent from the Faderport to Cubase and because its a motorised fader, messages also get sent back to the FAderport.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I still get crashes. Only BOME crashes, Cubase doesnt crash.

Thanks

Jorg

Hi, sorry for to read of these problems -- and thank you for reporting.
I've looked at the crash dump. We have never seen this kind of crash. It is not directly in our code, it seems somehow related to OpenGL. Bome MIDI Translator Pro does not require OpenGL, but it might use it. Do you have an unusual screen setup? Like, multiple screens, remote desktop, or similar?
Thanks,
Florian

Hi Florian,

No, I have 27" Dell screen, hooked up via USB-C. Nothing else.

I think I misunderstood the earlier post about about the duplicate ports.

I took the virtual port to faderport off and it still works. I keep an eye on it if that fixes anything.

Thanks

Jorg
