Custom MTP Config Work?

To begin with, please forgive me if this seems inappropriate in any way, or not the best forum for this kind of question. I have been struggling (and struggle is a pretty heavy understatement) to get familiarized with the language of using Midi Translator Pro. The software and the BomeBox are the answers to so many of my live routing problems, so I badly want to keep trying to get this solution to work for me. I’m not much of a programmer and, although some of the MIDI routing tools seem fairly intuitive, I’m struggling just to get past connecting a few synths together.

My question is this: Can I possibly commission someone to set up a template for me, around the hardware I’m using, to get me up and running? I’m pretty good at reverse engineering, but some of the other user templates and connection examples I’ve found online and through the old forum haven’t helped. I don’t have too many complex routing needs, but just a very specific way I’d like to have it done and a way that I can hopefully expand on and play around with to learn the process.

I’m kind of flailing in the wind at the moment, so any insight, advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I’m sure a good bunch of people would be willing to help you, but first we need to know what you want to do. Don’t be afraid to ask…. We’re waiting

I agree with ibanman — organize all the things you want to do in separate things, and then post here one topic per thing. Try to explain in as much detail as possible. It’s also appropriate for the pro users here in the forum to offer payed services for helping with creating translations in MT Pro.

Beyond setting up the buttons to select MIDI channels, I was wondering if it would be possible to use two of the v49’s drum pads to scroll through synth preset banks. One pad for up, one for down. For example, if I select the JU-06 on MIDI channel 2, can I then have one of the pads scroll up through that module’s presets and have another scroll back down?

Yeah, I was hoping to have button #1 select MIDI channel 1, button #2 to MIDI channel 2 and so forth.

Okay, thanks for the quick responses guys! Let me see if I can map this out as clearly as possible. To clarify from the get-go, I have two key “stations”, each with their own MIDI controller that will control different synths and modules. Here’s the first one:

I have an Aukey brand USB hub that plugs into my computer and powers an Alesis v49 controller, a Waldorf Streichfett (MIDI channel 1) and a Juno JU-06 (MIDI channel 2). All three pieces of hardware are connected to the USB hub and receive power from it. In MTP, I can get all the devices routed and connected just fine. What I’d like to do first is assign the #1-4 buttons on the left of the v49 to change which MIDI channel the controller broadcasts on, subsequently which synth is playing.

So you want to have your Alesis V49 controller set up to have 4 buttons control which channels in broadcasts? Any combination of midi channels 1-4? I did something similar with my Alesis VI61. It actually can assign up to 15 selectable channels The trick is to define a global channel for the Alesis to transmit to BMT (I use channel 13). Then have BMT determine the channels to broadcast. This is very doable. You are looking for a template to start with? Why 4 buttons for 3 channels? The below is a link to the old forum that outlines what I do and also has the config file. http://www.bome.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12248 Edit – If you want me to put together custom solution for you, reach out to me at email bome at sniz dot biz. As I am considering doing some freelance work. Note I am not a Bome employee.
