Boss FC-50 A/B bank switch map to Ableton as Note

The Boss FC-50 has FIVE channel switches and ONE A/B switch.
I am trying to get the A/B switch to just send a midi note to Ableton. Trouble is it seems to have two states, one for each bank so when I map it one click works but it shuts all the others off (possibly activating the B bank). Not sure how to turn banking off and just to use the A/B as a channel like the others.  Thanks!

Sorry, could you also enable MIDI IN and MIDI OUT in your log file. I suspect the button is actually sending multiple MIDI in messages that will not be seen if MIDI IN is checked.

OK so it is alternating between program 1 and 6. Best thing to do is to put two translators together. One that converts Program 1 to a note of your choice and the other that converts program 6 to the same note. That way each time you press the pedal it will send out the same note (using a different translator). If your number 1 or 6 buttons also send out program 1 and 6 this could be a problem unless you can set them up to send out something else. I’m not sure if the controller pedals can be programmed in this fashion however.

Right, so the last two are the A/B switch. Looks like it might be a problem. https://imgur.com/a/EiYQi8w . By the way, is that how the other translators should look?

oops. this is the correct screen shot https://imgur.com/a/ddCn3aO

Yes, looks right. You might be able to get more PC messages from your other 5 switches by using the bank buttons, however (or an external foot switch if you have one attached).

Hi,

Can you tell me exactly what the A/B switch sends. Please turn on logging.

We can probably use it so that it can take either message (whether switching A to B or B to A) to send a single MIDI note.
