APC40 activate SHIFT+BANK

Hey Steve,

I saw that I could load custom script in FL Studio by pressing SHIFT+Page, example:

Have a folder with 4 Pages: they are used with Notes from 0 till 3. Which are available are with lights on by pressing SHIFT/OVERVIEW button.

I try to convert this on my MK II with the template from APC40 but I can`t find out, how I can load the custom script with converting the mapping from the APC40 and APC40 MK II.

I have found out a script for all commands I need, but they didn`t wanna run correct.

The Pad is avaiable with 8x5 but only runs the first 5x5 pads. Can´t programm them to 8x5.

By the way, the lights didn`t wanna go on, like on the APC40 after converting to the right CCs.

Could you help me with this tricky thing please?

Kindest regards

Mike

Mike, are you trying to use APC40 MKI FL Studio script with APC40 MKII device? Probably not a good idea s they are quite different in what they send and receive. It doesn’t surprise me that the lights don’t behave on your MKII or some of your buttons don’t work.

Maybe you can provide an overview of what you are trying to accomplish and how. As I understand it so far, you want to use APC40 MK and APC MIDImix together to run FL studio in some sort of custom (expanded) configuration using Bome MIDI Translator Pro. What I don’t understand is how you are going to configure FL Studio to make this all happen and how you want to map all of your buttons a knobs. While this is beyond the scope of free support, maybe understand this better will help me better understand your questions when the arise.

Also, as far as lights on your controller you either.

1) Control everything with MT Pro and forget anything FL Studio sends
2) Pass through LED feedback through FL Studio (probably wont work for custom configuration)
3) Convert FL studio feedback to what FL Studio sends back using MT Pro. In this case, we would need to know how FL studio behaves for every command you send it.

SJC> Shift+Page where (on one of your controllers), On your computer keyboard?

Have a folder with 4 Pages: they are used with Notes from 0 till 3. Which are available are with lights on by pressing SHIFT/OVERVIEW button.
SJC> Folders where in FL studio. No folders in MT Pro so I have to think it is somewhere in the app

I try to convert this on my MK II with the template from APC40 but I can`t find out, how I can load the custom script with converting the mapping from the APC40 and APC40 MK II.
SJC> Not a good idea if you want to custom map your APC40. Adds too much complexity

Yes! I try to use the scripts from the old APC40 (which is in the DAW included) to my MK II (which isn`t included)
The MK II has everything what I need and didn`t wanna have another controller for my work and passion.
So, I need the MK II for the Live/Performance Mode in my DAW (something like the Ableton Live Session) with the 8×4 pads to trigger them. Which shouldn`t be a problem, because the mode exist, but I need “CLIP STOP” “Scene Launch” “Scene Stop” etc. which aren`t programmed and can`t reach with MK II. In the script from the APC40 I have found out, there the commands stay. But I can`t go into the script. (It isn`t whole wrote and saved only in the templates to use) Only by doing in the DAW and founding all seperatly commands and script.
I need both controllers for my work and passion and they work amazing together.
The last step in this thing is, to get the MK II run correct in the DAW.
I can use the 8×4 pads with “Scene Mode” in my performance mode but I can`t use everything what I need in the performance mode without using the script from the APC40.
I have convert the 8 CCs from the buttons, (device left/right, bank left/right, dev. on/off etc.) and put them as variable to the fader below as 8Faderx8Ch=64 independent Faders.
Because, every of the Fader is manufactured per channel. (normally using per scene=channel in Ableton Live)
Fader 1 Ch 1 – Fader 2 Ch – 2 and so on.
I will check the things you need to know and hope you can understand me a little bit more now 🙂
I thank you so much for your patience with me and this crazy project I try to get run.

kindest regards
Mike

OK, as a rule of thumb (but not always), the DAW will echo back the same MIDI messages sent as it receives. However sometime if the button is momentary, the DAW will send back toggle. Also sometime the DAW will send something completely different back if it want to do something more to control the lights.

For example, the DAW might decide that if you push one button, to turn that LED on for that button and turn a bunch of other LEDs off. This would depend on the script the DAW is using. If the DAW reacts a certain way for the MKI, then you would need to use MT Pro to determine how to translate that to get the same behavior for the MKII. If you can find someone that has integrated the MKII with the DAW already, it would be better. But knowing that DAW manufactures cannot always keep up[ with all controllers, that is when you would need MT Pro.
