Post by frfortes » Thu Nov 23, 2006 11:24 pm

What about a MIDI to Serial message (COM) Converter? It could be used to control different stuffs as controlable video players, projectors, and so one...

Hi,

yes, that's a good idea, I've added it to the feature request list. Would you have an example what kind of commandos would be sent over the serial port?

Thanks,
Florian

Normally I use some Pioneer standard serial comands, something like 1PL<CR> = Play Clip one + carriage return. You could set the COM preferences as baud rate, parity, bit depth and port. Multiple COM ports could be a very usefull ShowControl feature. For example, a NOTE ON C1 could be translated to PL1<CR> on COM1, and NOTE ON C2 could be PL2<CR>on COM2, user configurable. Got the idea? Very smilar of MIDI to keystroke comands, but instead of keyboard comands, serial ASCII comands... If multiple COMs is a problem, that's ok, just one will be very usefull! Thanks!
