Joystick or Mouse to MIDI.

Post by MarkRM » Wed Sep 12, 2007 4:24 pm

Hi!

I've just purchased MTPro to use with Ableton Live. There's a few things I'm hoping to do with the program which apparently you can also do with Bidule (which I also own), but I was finding that program's MIDI translation hard to get my head around. Hopefully I'll have better luck with MTPro!

I'm hoping to use either a Mouse or a joystick as a handheld MIDI controller in Ableton Live. Does MTPro have a way of translating these controllers to MIDI info (like Bidule's HID Data Extractor)?

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

currently, MT does not support translation from mouse or joystick, but it is a planned feature. How does this HID Data Extractor work? can it just work with any HID device?

Thanks,
Florian

Hi Florian.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not exactly sure, but I'm pretty sure Bidule's HID Data Extractor works with any HID device. It was very simple for me to use. I inserted the Data Extractor, selected 'Mouse' and my desired MIDI signal, and I was away.
