Key down MIDI event capture

Hi! I'm sorry if this has been asked before - I checked through current threads and couldn't find anything. I want to use MT to translate a keydown on my MIDI keyboard but when I capture the MIDI it captures the velocity too, so that's obviously no use because I can't hit it exactly the same each time. I know I can do it for key-up, and I should probably just do it like that, but is there a way of putting in a wildcard in the MIDI event to capture, or any other way of doing what I need?
