I installed MT Pro yesterday. It does not seem to recognize keystroke input. I don't see activity in the event log or activity monitor. Any ideas about what's wrong?

Thanks!!

Hi,

Have you seen and followed the instructions how to enable "keystroke input"?
You need to go to System Preferences, Universal Access: check "access for assistive devices".
(btw, there is a hint in the Keystroke Incoming Action, and the user's manual explains it, too).

Furthermore, keystroke input only works when MT is not the active program.

Hope it'll work now!
Thanks,
Florian

Thanks for the reply! This was the problem:
Furthermore, keystroke input only works when MT is not the active program.
All is well now that I know how it works; I was confused.

MT is a great program. I bought it today. :)

Hello, there is no longer a universal access and from research I did online, it's been changed to Accessibility but there's no mention of the:

"access for assistive devices" in the "Universal Access" pane in your Mac's System Preferences.

Please help, thanks in advance

Hi,

the instructions will be updated in the next version of MT! Here it is for Mavericks (10.9) and Yosemite (10.10):

You will need to allow "MIDI Translator" to control your computer by selecting it in:
System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy tab -> Accessibility.
If you cannot find "MIDI Translator" there, make sure it's installed in the Applications folder.
