Problem
We've received a few problem reports that OS X reports this error message when trying to start Midi Translator Pro:
"Bome's Midi Translator Pro" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
The cause for this is not that MT Pro is damaged, but that Gatekeeper, a safety feature of OS X, did not consider MT Pro to be safe.

The original problem (in 2012) was that Midi Translator was not signed. We fixed that, but starting in November 2014, Apple requires a new digital signature. It is not possible for us to retrofit v1.7.2 with this new signature (but the next version of MT will).

So again, some of you may experience Gatekeeper to refuse starting MT with that rather harsh message. So don't throw it into the thrash yet! :D

Workaround 1:
You may get around to just right-click on the MT Pro application in Finder, and select "Open". In the following security question, allow execution of MT Pro, and you should be done. Subsequent double-clicks on MT Pro will start it without problems.

Workaround 2:
If that doesn't work for you, follow these steps:
  1. System Preferences > Security & Privacy
  2. Click lock to make changes (password required)
  3. Under "Allow applications downloaded from:" choose "Anywhere" (requires confirmation)
  4. Launch MT
  5. You can now restore the security setting as you wish and MT will still launch
Thanks to Blake for these instructions!

MT Pro Will Be Fixed
Version 1.8 is close to release. It will be signed with the new digital signature.

Sorry for this annoyance!
