Is there a way I can have my midi foot controller to send the same value as my launch pad so if I have assigned a button on the launchpad to hit record in ableton, I want to access the same function with my floor pedal? I have tried midi incoming from my foot pedal and outgoing to my launchpad but It doesn't seem to activate the launchpad? Sorry I'm a noob to the midi world and only have basic knowledge of midi.

All you have to do is set the outgoing message of the foot pedal to be the same as the outgoing message for the Launchpad, and have them both send to Ableton.

Yes thanks it makes sence, I'm just having a tough time figuring out how to do that on my softstep! I was hoping I could just mimick the launchpad via the softstep.

Well, you need can, you just need to duplicate the outgoing messages with new incoming messages so your software constantly thinks the same messages are coming in, regardless of the source.
