Fixing faulty midi keyboard with bomesMT

As the topic title suggests, I use bomes MT primarily to fix my broken midi keyboard - because of old and cheap usb connections, it keeps on turning on and off in an almost random manner.
The problem is, that when it turns off, to use the keyboard again I have to restart ableton (PC), which takes loads of time.
Sending keyboard's midi thru bomes (via Midi Yoke) helps a lot by tricking ableton to thinking that the midi device (midi yoke input) is still up and running. But I still have to rescan midi devices in bomes and select my keyboard as THE midi input.
So the obvious question is - is there a way in bomes, like, to lock the midi keyboard (even if it's off) as the midi input without having to rescan everything etc?

jacquesgaspar,

I think you have already found the best solution!!

I'd suggest maybe getting a soldering kit and trying to fix the keyboard - I had a keyboard that did the same thing that I was able to fix it like this.
