Hi Florian,

A few weeks ago I bougt Bome's miditranslator pro OSX for a template I got for Abkletons APC 40 written by Darren Cowley. Onley I got some problems when I rum Ableton and Darrens Bome's template together. I have all te midisetting just like Darren said. But when I firts open Bome's and than open Ableton, Ableton jams and when I quit Bome's Ableton runs again. I already spoke with Darren about it. He said that I do everything right and for the problem I have to contact you about it.
So please help me with this.

Regards Allan

Hi,

thanks for the report.

We have many users that use MT Pro 1.7 with Ableton Live. Can you tell us a little more?

Windows/OSX?
Which version ? (XP, Vista, Windows 7 / 10.4, 10.5, 10.6)
If Windows, is it a 64-bit version?

Which version of MT Pro?

What exactly do you mean with "Ableton jams"? does it crash? or
freezes? or does something irrational?

Does MT Pro still work when Ableton jams?

Have you made sure that Ableton only opens the MT ports and no others?
What happens when you start Ableton first, deselect all MIDI ports,
then start MT Pro? What if you then activate MT's ports?

Thanks for any other insight. If you've got a crash log, it would be very
interesting to see.

Regards,
Florian

Hi Floria,

Some answers on your questions.

I use Bome MidiTranslater Pro Full 1.7 Beta for OSX. And with Ableton jams, I mean it freeze's when I run Ableton and Bome simultaneously. I also tried wat you ask. By first open Ableton and deselect al midi ports and then open Bome. Afther that I activate the midi-in or out from Bome translator and still everything is ok. But when I When I open them together, Ableton freeze's.
Where can I see if Ableton open only the MT ports?
Hope we can fix this problem soon.

Hi Allan,

is it possible that you have set up a route from "MT Virtual 1" to "MT Virtual 1" in the MIDI Router (get to it from MT's MIDImenu) ? That would explain the freeze (i.e. a feedback loop).

I'll try to reproduce it.

Florian

Hi Florian,

Yes I'm useing Darren's preset. I think we're almost there. It doesn't freeze anymore. But I think that I don't know the right midi settings. In your preset I get an error message
what says: Warning!! Midi port alias 'farmpad' is currenly not assigned.
What does that mean and what should I do about it?

Hi Allan,
(duplicating our email discussion :) )

that's good to hear! You can ignore the farmpad warning. I believe
that Darren uses it. You can just uncheck it in the project MIDI
settings, and remove all routes associated with it in the MIDI Router.
Then the warning should be gone.

Thanks,
Florian

Hi Florian,

I tought I was almost there. But I still have the same problems. When I start
Bome's with the apc preset a popup appears with "Select MIDI device" What should I do? If I don't select any in/out device Ableton don't freeze. But when I select a device( I tried many combinations) Ableton freeze's. I also can't get the red rectangle wich you can move arround in Ableton.
MayB you have some screenshots for me.

Thankzz Allan

Hi Allan,

have you tried Darren's new preset and followed his setup video?

Thanks.,
