Hi all
This is my first post and I'm new to this nice program.
I need a help before buying it: my Sh-201 keyboard has plenty of pots but sends fixed midi messages. For example, the cutoff pot sends a 102 msg.
So said, I would like to control my vsti software on Cubase 5 and, mostly, my beloved Powercore Virus. As above, the Virus cutoff works if receives a 40 midi message. so the question is: can I convert the midi 102 msg of the roland (and then all the other pots) to the "40" midi msg needed from Virus?
Thank you

Hi,

Midi Translator is exactly what you need!

Download the Trial version and check it out:

http://www.bome.com/midi/translator/download.html

For OS X, we recommend the beta 1.7.

Oh well thank you
yes, but how? I mean there's no cc standard messages in MT... so how can I convert from 120 msg input to 40 output?

Hi,

Midi Translator works hexadecimal based.

Try to capture the incoming MIDI message (120) with "Capture MIDI".

120 decimal = 78 hex.

Enter the same MIDI message as outgoing. Replace the 78 hex with 28:

40 decimal = 28 hex.

Ok thanks, now I'm guessin' how to route this messages to the midi in of Cubase: Incoming tab is set as Keyb in and outgoing is MT virtual out. But now I can't play notes! Only midi commands translated from Mt go straight top the daw...

Hi,

MIDI ports are exclusive, that means that you can open a port ony one time.

So, create a MIDI Route via the MIDI Router for routing the MIDI messages to cubase.
