i would like to set up my apc40 to do two things at the moment. i would like to be able to press shift + track selection button to change modes from normal operation to a mode i call "copy & paste"

second, the copy and paste mode, would allow me to press any button with a clip already loaded into that slot, and while holding it down, press an unused clip slot and have ableton copy and paste the clip i am holding down, to that open slot.

i've never worked with bomes, but im sure it can do want i want. help is greatly appreciated and will be rewarded!

Hi superchibisan!

To do this in MT would not be too tricky, but the sad part is that I don't think Ableton Live has a "copy one clip to another clip slot" MIDI input message. I think this is only something you can do with a mouse...

If you know otherwise, please let me know and I will be able to help!

cheers,

there is key commands for it. can bomes translate midi to keystrokes?

oops, didn't see your reply :)
yes, MT can emulate keystrokes and series of keystrokes from MIDI. Just try it!
