This is what I get with the latest 1.61 for OS X on 10.5.6

"Problem starting up Bomes Midi Translator. Please reinstall this program. [NullPointerException]"

I have downloaded and reinstalled multiple times, same thing.

Thanks,
Tim

Oh, that doesn't sound good! Sorry for this problem.

- Is this the trial or full version?

And, to help us, can you launch the program from a terminal window?
1. Open terminal
2. Type

Code: Select all

open -a /Applications/Bome\'s\ Midi\ Translator\ Pro.app
3. hit Enter to start MT in the Terminal

If there is any output on the Terminal, please copy/paste it here into the forum. That will greatly help us finding out what's going on!

Thanks a lot,
Florian

Hi Florian,

This is the full version. I just did the terminal window thing, and I see the splash screen for a split second, and then the same error in a dialog box.

Unfortunately there is no output in the terminal window, it simply goes to a new line after the program executes :?

Im running on a Macbook Pro 2.4ghz and was able to use the first OSX bulids of Bomes versions without any drama.

Was a solution ever found for this? I'm running into the same error.

Things I've tried:
* Nothing shows in the console when ran the app from there.
* I've restarted my laptop.
* Tried starting with my midi-usb plugged in & not plugged in.
* Reinstalled multiple times, even deleting the Bome directory in my home folder.
* It worked once when I first started it entered my license key, but has yet to startup since.

Nope, sorry. The Bomes crew was very, very helpful, but we never resolved it.

I told them I was going to wait for 10.5.7 to be released as I plan on reinstalling when it does... and then MT still didn't work, I would get back to them :)

w00t! i figured it out. \o/

so goto spotlight (or quicksilver) and type 'java preferences'. then make sure that j2se5.0 is the top most jre used - mine was set to 6. there were some changes between the versions that obviously makes things not backwards compatible.

anyway, this solved my problem, and i bet itll solve urs as well.
