Controlling a game

My goal: to use my Korg padKontrol in the game "Warhammer Online".
I got as far as translating the MIDI messages to regular characters, using the excellent Midi Translator. Tested the output on notepad: works fine.

However, in-game the translated messages don't seem to arrive.
Is the output format technically different from a regular keyboard output? Or is it a 100% emulation?

Hope you can help me out here. I've checked with the game developer to see if the fault is with the game (no replies yet).

Hi,

please tell us if it works :)

A video will also be nice. To have a great example for gaming with Midi Translator.

Best regards,
Rüdi

Nope, it's not working in Midi Translator 1.61 / Windows Xp / Warhammer Online.

Tested on:
- Note Off (note Off generates a key stroke emulation)
- Note On (note On with fixed velocity generates a key stroke emulation)
- frets on fire (Key down + Key up)

All worked fine on Notepad, but not on the game.

So if you want that video, you'll need to give me the working software first.

[Update 2009-03-29]: It works in Midi Translator Pro version 1.7 ! Yaay!

Does Midi Translator capture the x-y pad of a Korg padKontrol?
I would like it to control the movement of a game character.

Hi,

should be all midi, so it should work. Try it out with the Trail version!
