Mac and line6 GearBox issue

Hi,

I'm trying out the Bome, and wanted to use it to map some Presets of Line6 Gearbox for my GuitarPort. The pretended version will be a footcontroller or a keyboard changing presets in Gearbox. I tried some things, now having Gearbox as Input and Output (controlling itself):

> I managed to translate a small midi message, such as activating the GATE pedal (clicking on it), and having Bome activating the WAH pedal through an outgoing message (got the codes by receiving it in Bome). In this cases, the Midi messages are quite small.

> This first step to tell you that things are communicating and working. Now, making the same thing but trying a Preset code it does not work. I tryed 2 simpler tests:

> Ingoing a pedal activation, and outgoing a preset change: does not work
> Ingoing a preset change, outgoing a pedal activation: does not work

The preset codes are quite big. Can this be the problem? Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug/limitation of the program?

For instance, one preset change Midi code is:
F0 00 01 0C 08 74 01 44 69 73 74 6F 72 74 69 6F 6E 2B 57 61 68 2B 52 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 53 21 00 7F 00 35 00

Cheers, and thanks!!!

Hi,

in general MT shouldn't have a problem with long MIDI messages. However, your MIDI messages seems malformatted. Such a Sys Ex message should start with F0 (as it does) but end with F7 (which it doesn't). Maybe check again the exact messages to send?

You can also experiment with sending/receiving such MIDI messages using Bome's SendSX.

Hi!

Thanks for the answer!!! I verified again the message but still no luck...

The MIDI message I've posted I obtained through Bome listening to the midi port... I tried putting the F7 in the end but still no luck...

Is there anybody using guitarport with gearbox that could got this to work?

Take care!

Hi,

I have checked your problem and it seems that our capture screen is not big enough for that really LONG message.

Can you please try this workaround:

Download Bome's SendSX: http://www.bome.com/midi/sendsx/ and capture the Midi Message with this tool. Then you will see that your message was to not long enough: F0 00 01 0C ... 00 35 XX XX XX ... .

After that, enter that message in Midi Translator and try again. Now it should work.

Please let me now if it works.

Best regards,
RĂ¼di

Hi, I've re-checked this issue, and MT 1.7 does not have a problem with long SYS EX messages.

Thanks,
