A user asked how you can control a Powerpoint slideshow with e.g. a MIDI pad that sends Note messages.

this should be easily possible. Just create the mappings in Midi Translator from the MIDI command to the keyboard shortcuts in Powerpoint to do what you want.

E.g. Pad 1 to PageDown:

Make sure the pad MIDI controller is connected to the computer and that it is selected as MIDI IN in the menu of MIDI Translator.

Start a new Translator Preset
Add A Translator
Click Edit Translator
As Incoming Action, choose MIDI
enable "Capture MIDI" and press the MIDI pad 1
select the MIDI message that stops with "00" (zero zero, not o o)
(do not use the message with "oo" or so)
As Outgoing Action, choose Keystroke
in the field, type in the key (combination) exactly as you'd
press it in Powerpoint

Press Apply. Now switch to Powerpoint and press the MIDI pad. It should turn the page down!

Let us know if that's working.

Regards.

I am trying to do the same thing but with a program called G-Force by Soundspectrum. I can get G-Force to work correctly with keystrokes such as CTRL-h or CTRL-j and I can set up Bomes MT to send Keystrokes CTRL-h or CTRL-j but I can't seem to get the 2 to communicate. Any advice?

Hi,

1. Your program called G-Force must be on top.
2. Open the log window of MT and make sure that the keystrokes appear there
3. You have to enter your keytrokes correct in the Outgoing action. Press CTRL and while you have the CTRL key down, press h or j. Then you can release both keys. In the text field there must be something like CTRL(h).
