What do different checkboxes in log window mean

I don't think I understand what he difference is in the log window, between Incoming and MIDI IN, and between Outgoing and MIDI OUT.
When I have input from my midi controller, I see the input in the Log window listed twice.
1: MIDI IN [Brain2]: B3 19 02
2: IN 19.22 MIDI B3 19 02, pp=0x02
What is the difference between the two?

Similarly, when I have output, I see:
1: MIDI OUT [Bome MIDI Translator 1 Virtual Out]: BE 19 00 B2 26 00 B0 26 03 B5 26 00 B3 26 7F
2: OUT 19.22 MIDI 15 bytes BE 19 00 B2 26 00 B0 26 03 B5 26 00 B3 26 7F
What is the difference between these two?

Hi again gabriels

So Incoming is not necessarily going to be a MIDI message. For example, your incoming action may be a keystroke or a preset action, and same for your outgoing action. You may be troubleshooting a set of timers and only want to see your MIDI actions, but not follow the timer triggers.

The examples you give are identical, but notice that the MIDI In and MIDI Out messages do not tell you the Preset and Translator numbers because it is only watching for the MIDI that is coming into MT Pro and going out of it, and you are getting none of the translation that's occurring. For example, in the Input section you don't see the pp value in MIDI IN, and in the output section you don't see the Port that is being sent on.

Does that make sense?

Yes it does! A very nice feature indeed.
Thanks,
