MT as a VST ? / feature compare

Hi MidiTranslator experts,

I recommended Bome Midi Translator in the Forte Forum ( -> http://brainspawn.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4711 ).

There I was told that MT would not be appropriate for Forte users, as it can't work as a VST and thus not be loaded by Forte. It seems that MT in fact does not offer that option.

I doubt that this is really relevant in most of the thinkable applications, as the Forte MIDI input can be connected to a MT virtual Midi device and thus Forte will listen (e.g. change it's "scene") due to program change messages, and Forte will route any appropriate Midi messages to the VSTs / VSTi's it hosts.

Nonetheless the experienced Forte user recommended Soundigy ( -> http://www.soundigy.com/midiprocessor.php ) instead, as same seemingly can be used as a VST.

Could anybody help with a feature compare between Midi Translator vs soundigy, as I am about to purchase either of them. (I still don't use Forte in a productive way yet, but I might want to do that when I in future might be need more sophisticated audio routing and sound engine / processor managing.)

Thanks for any pointers
-Michael

I downloaded the demo of Soundigy Midiproccessor and after 10 minutes_quick_try I must say it's a strong app and it's nice to have competition! The interface is very nice and you can make translations easy and very quick. BUT bome's midi translator is way more powerful ,although a bit difficult to master it. I also use CTLRL with Bome's MT http://ctrlr.org/ which is freeware and you can customize your own interface so I'd prefer MT over Midiproccessor.

More powerful with Midi processing or just with handling computer internals (such as Key-press, Mouse, ...) (which I supposedly don't need.

As said, I supposedly don't need the VST integration Soundigy offers.

And I greatly appreciate the community support Bome enjoy (the Soundigy forum is empty).

With MT you can set rules, conditions, trigger timers and create advanced macros (even with sysex) but MT lacks the quick workflow for simple tasks-translations.It depends on your needs. If someone needs simple midi conversion there are other choices such as MT classic (very handy for sysex data also) or even the wonderful PizMidiPlugins

The forum here is like an online manual and often DvlsAdvct and Florian jump to the forums for help... :)
