What is Microsoft Virtual PC?
I assume that this diffrerent to the compatibility mode which does not seem to work.
If so where can I get it (or is it lurking inside XP)

You should be able to find Virtual PC on http://www.microsoft.com - it's a free software to install an operating system in an operating system, like VMWare.

CS1x is still used but win98 is getting seriously old.

I spend last night and this morning installing 98 (and going trough DOS, floppy-disks and all that fun stuff once again) only to discover that 98 isn't supported by my audio interface nor by my USB-MIDI interface. On top of that, I realized that my motherboard doesn't have a serial port, so getting a serial port MIDI interface doesn't help either.

Would it be that difficult to make an XP version? Or if you've abandoned the idea, could you release the source code, so someone else could do it?
