Ok, ive been looking around for a good resource editor, found it here 
I wanted to customize my xp install with my own set of icons and dialog...
so far so good, ive modified the exe and dll files, compressed them to cab, put them where they go and install windows, only a few of my mods get through the install.... if i replace these files in safe mode manually it works, what am i missing here?
