use full computer keyboard as midi keyboard?

Hi I am using Live for performance and would like to be able to use the full computer keyboard as midi keyboard. Presently Live only allows you to use 14 of the keys in this way. I would like to be able to assign every key of the computer keyboard to a different midi note. Also, I would like to be able to hold down 8 keys on the computer keyboard for example and have each be triggering a note in Live and all be playing simultaneously. I am on os X. Can MT do this?

No problem just translate the pc key to a midi note.

Not sure about this as some qwerty keyboards will only send a certain amount of key presses at a time.
