Hi mcbeat,
unfortunately, it seems there's no one who can relate to your task.
It should be possible to be done in MT Pro, but I don't really understand, either, what you're trying to do... Maybe you can explain in more detail? Start with which device is connected to one or more computer(s), which software you want to control and how. Are there physical decks, or in software? Which EQ do you want to control?

Sorry for not understanding directly. Often, it also helps if you explain a little more what you want to achieve.

Best,
Florian

APC40 can change 12345678. ........ not ......... 1234 and 5678
i want change
Left track selection 1-4 Decks (Device control 1 or 2 or 3 or 4) with remember last Knob position
and in the same Time parallel
5-8 Decks (Device control 5 or 6 or 7 or 8) with remember last Knob position
i hope you can maked this, maybe with rules?

Hi mcbeat, I get a better understanding of what you're trying to do.
And I don't understand what your preset actually does... In the first translator, in response to Controller #20 (any value), it sends back to the APC40 Controller #28 with value 3. What does that achieve?

Maybe it's easier to understand when using the actual MIDI messages instead of raw notation in MIDI Translator. Then, your preset looks like this:

Code: Select all

[x] Translator 0.0: filter right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:20 (0x14) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:28 (0x1C) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.1: low right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:21 (0x15) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:29 (0x1D) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.2: mid right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:22 (0x16) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:30 (0x1E) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.3: high right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:23 (0x17) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:31 (0x1F) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.4: filter left
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:16 (0x10) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:24 (0x18) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.5: low right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:17 (0x11) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:25 (0x19) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.6: mid right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:18 (0x12) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:26 (0x1A) and value:3 (0x03)

[x] Translator 0.7: high right
Options: swallow
Incoming: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:19 (0x13) and any value
Outgoing: Control Change on ch. 1 with CC#:27 (0x1B) and value:3 (0x03)

Hey Florian,
I dont now what to make a choice. Standard or the Ableton Dump Mode 041or042?
In standard Mode Send apc40 8 different Channels. In the Ableton Mode send apc40 only 1 Channel.
how can i spilt standard mode for left and right Decks? Or maybe should i make that in 041Mode?
how i can kiled all LED from EQ and skip to next.? and the EQ must send note value to my Software.
can you see what i mean in the .bmtp in 041 Mode.

Thanks for you Answer...

Hi Mcbeat

I'm @ work @ the moment I will reply in this thread when I get home with a full answer but

@Florian, cc20 has a value often knob turning on an apc40 the +8 cc tells the app how to display the leds.
So a value of 0 is a little light which follows, 1 gives a light that goes up and down from left to right keeping all lights to the left lit and all to the right of the current value unlit, 2 gives u an eq style where lights to the left of centre are lit when the knob turns left and lights to the right of centre when u turn to the right, ie centre is the base point. It might be 1,2,3 not 0,1,2 but it just tells the leds how they should be displayed

As I said full answer when I get home in a couple of hours.

Peace

Robbie

Hi,

Yeah I haven't replied because I'm almost done making the finished version available for the mapping McBeats is trying to remap. In there is a an excel of all globals used and their function, and a list of all used and not used midi codes without there meanings.

I'm creating the video for using it and in doing so I found some lights not working correctly, so I have to fix these and go back and RE-record it before edit etc.

Then there's the manual to write, the images are already created.

Once that is packaged and uploaded I plan on writing an entire post on APC 40 logic from the Bomes perspective

So the version McBeats is using to hack is incomplete particularly on the page separation of midi codes. I am also very willing to admit there are distinct areas where I could have done it better and easier to read/find. The other thing is I spent a long time converting what I could to the simple midi and don't think I uploaded it. So again, once I'm happy it's complete I will be in a much better position to help.

Sorry I have literally been trying to reply with something more helpful, you are not forgotten.

Robbie

Hi guys.
Orginalmode is so that between channal 4 and 5 is no separation.
It should be so:
If I jump o.g from channal 4 (track selection on apc) to channel 5 (track selection on apc) then both channels (4 and 5) must be stay on at the same time, it must be sent to software (device control on ) channal 4, for the upper 4 knobs (1234) the cc`s to APC and the notes for channal 4 to software,
and in the same time it has to go to (device control) channal 5 , For the lower 4 knobs (5678) the cc`s to APC and the notes for channal 5 to software are sent.
The idea is to control 2 decks simultaneously with EQ.
There must always 2 channel be sent,
so I have direct access to 2 decks.
The decks I can then select with a focus.
For example,
I focus Deck 4 from the left side and focus Deck 5 from the right side. See Flow 8.
I have 8 decks being 2 decks at the same time. That's why I need 8 konbs.
It is no matter which led to be connected. This is only optical.
Orginal APC 40 change always to next deck or slot. I have only 1 deck. You have to imagine that.
I split apc in the middle and wise 4 knobs for the left separation and 4 knobs for right separation. I hope you understand it better now.
I have very much experimented but without success. I think it must be sent everything from channel 0 to 8 different channels, for the knob led musst value send 1-127 cc value 0 for off. but how i can timer off when skip to the next channel? last position led?. It's just too much for my brain, to many :? (rules modes cc´s notes timer et.c). But you know more about the mapping than me. And I hope for your help. I'm very excited. I'm waiting for the finished mapping. I hope the other can benefit from it.
Thank you for your reply and the trouble.
see you...

The answer for this BTW is 042, only ever do you want 042, took me years to realise this don't make the same mistake.

Here is the differences:

040: Normal APC Mode when turned on: All buttons send an off code back to the state of the light when released, meaning all mapped lights turn off when their button is pressed, this willl result in much processing to send the light again on release or even update all lights. Banks are internal (but only for the bottom right knobs (8) and the Buttons below them (8), controlled by the 9 Bank Selector buttons, and their Channel changes reespectively Ch1-9. The APC stores the value of each knob and recalls it from internal memory and you only have 1 knob style for the LED ring.

041: (infamously) Ableton mode: Basically a hybrid of the 040 and 042, where all banks are ignored and buttons respond by turning their own light off when released thus still requiring processing to keep them on (which ableton does via MIDI Remote Scripting). All knobs (16 total) broadcast on channel 1 and all Bank selector buttons also broadcast a Note. All Knobs and Buttons on the right broadcast on Ch1 and their knob LED rings respond to thier Channel and CC from the Host and can be set to have different display styles for 0-100%, +-50% or the 2 dots thing with their CC +8 and a velocity of 0,1,2 or 3? Don't remember exactly.

042: The Blank Canvas: All buttons now only send the Off code to the Host application and not to the button too allowing complete control of the light in question when pressed; by the Host Application. All banks are ignored and free to be recreated within something like Bomes. All Knobs and Buttons on the right broadcast on Ch1 and their knob LED rings respond to thier Channel and CC from the Host and can be set to have different display styles for 0-100%, +-50% or the 2 dots thing with their CC +8 as above.

It's all about the control you need to have and 042 is the only one you get complete control.

Hope that helps to clarify

Robbie

hey Nonspecial,
Thank you for a quick response. i have understand.
It does not necessarily have to be applied to the style with 0x3. A simple stalk also goes, the main thing it does what's supposed to be.
Question?
how i can the last cc value position save and copy to next channel?
(how i can save the last cc value position(led) from knob and copy to next knob with the same
last notes for haptic (feel) and cc for optic (led)) ?
Can you show me an example how I can make at least two knobs with different channels with rules and et.c,
the rest I do alone. I hope. :?
new:
i have make this but you must push the (TAP TEMPO) button on APC40 and hold this.
the trick is :
I switch between two decks in DM2 (DumpMode2)
button (on apc TAP TEMPO) switches from 0x40 mode to0x42 mode (if I press then 0x40)
(If I release TAP TEMPO on apc then) 0x42 remains.
So I would have the last position on LEDs or not?
Now we can copy this in standard mode last position 0x40 and paste to mode 0x42 and selectet slot.?
Unfortunately without LED Feedbeck form last postion.
I must always move a little bit the knob so the LEDs jump to the correct position
the Example works fine with my Software. But APC send the LEDs not on channel 2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9:x
How i can do this ???
p.s
EQ Software feedback is not available on the Software!

Very thanks on Florian and Nonspacial :)

hey,
I have done it;).
i have modification the EQ Style from Nonspaciale "Step Sequencer" for all 8 Knobs.
For run push the button (TAP TEMPO)
You can now select which ROWs you want- "Pattern 1-2-3-4) Slot.
TRACK SELECTION choose the Deck."
all root from channel 0 to 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 (implement in Pattern)
I think however not all rules are needed. Can you clean it so that everything runs smoothly?
I would like to have the lower 8 knobs in a style 3 (0x3). This is not easy for me. and the TRACK SELECTION buttons in trigger mode, not toggle mode.
When I press TRACK SELECTION, is EQ LED on and again is EQ LED stay on (no reaction). It should always be on (not toggle). It should always access to the EQ knobs.

works with the software "flow8 decks" with APC TRACK SELECTIONs buttons.
Now I can choose in the same time and LED Feedback for all Decks in FOKUS- Deck left (4 Decks )- and - right (4 Decks)
4+4= 8 Decks and stems ready :D
p.s i tI think it runs with any software...
happy New Year 2017
Thanks again

Hey ,
Yes the magical mode is Mode 42. I will the days the file post her.muss the still further. The trick is it variable to convert globally and pack in different presets which one calls when required. I do not understand yet all rules but it gets better and better. I miss tutorials explaining to you by means of an example which means everything.
Would now gladly create the matrix according to the principle. So I could access the last preset led of the buttons.
Example.
I have matrix 1 with leds and jump to matrix 2 then have new commands with led feedbeck, jump back to matrix 1 and have my last preset wth leds from the buttons. I love bome ;)

Hi mcbeat,
one way of doing such layering, if I understand correctly, can be done with duplicated presets and enabling them depending on which layer is selected.
But otherwise, maybe it would be good to start a new topic for that in the Q&A.
Thanks,
Florian
