Hey at all! :)

First of all, i never worked with a midi translator before, and i need help before i'm going crazy! :x

It seem that i need it for controlling my Allen & Heath Gsr24m(Firewire) with Reason or StudioOne!

So...

- i made a preset for the Gsr in the midi translator.
- i went to incoming and capture all midi sends from the console (faders,solo/select buttons, knobs)
- i went to outgoing and did exactly the same.
- in Reason i selected the bome's midi translator 1
- now i can controll all my faders in the DAW via "find midi"

But the motorised fader from the console don't move when i'm using the faders in the DAW via mouse!

I'm sure i did something wrong.

Can anyone help me please???

greets!

Hi Andynamite (love the username)

So you took the first step, which was to set the device to send out to the software.

Next, you need to do the same thing in the other direction. In Reason, set your MIDI Out to Bome MIDI Translator 2, and then in your MIDI Router, connect the Bome MIDI Translator 2 IN to the GSR24M Out. That should pass the MIDI data through.

Let me know if that works

If tried this as far i had understand this....but thats a bit to high for me because midi translation is absolut new stuff for me! :(
Please go slow with me i'm no midi genius!

Can you give me a step by step manual please?

I've got Bome's MT Pro trial, because i only want to buy pro version when it works fine.

So i've made a preset from my GSR24M.

Focus on the MIDI Router

Connect Allen and Heath Firewire to MIDI Translator 1 Virtual Out
In Reason, use MIDI Translator 1 Virtual In for all incoming MIDI.
I can't remember if you can set a different MIDI port in Reason for MIDI Out, and if you can, set it to MIDI Translator 2 Virtual Out.
And then in MT Pro, use the router to draw a connection between MIDI Translator 2 Virtual In to Allen & Heath Out.

It should look like the below.
